Follower Emotes

Follower Emotes let creators grow their communities by offering viewers a fun, free benefit to hitting the “Follow” button. Follower Emote are available to all Partners and Affiliates.

Creators can select up to five emotes to populate the new free tier, accessed via the Emotes page of Creator Dashboard. Upload new emotes, reassign them from other tiers, or choose from a selection of default emotes provided by Twitch. Follower Emotes must follow all emote guidelines.

Thanks to your feedback, Follower Emotes can now be used by subscribers in any channel on Twitch. Followers who are not subscribers may continue to use Follower Emotes only within that channel itself.

Assigning Follower Emotes

You can assign emotes to this tier from the Emotes page on the Creator Dashboard. On the left-hand sidebar, click Viewer Rewards, then Emotes. Creators with beta access will see a callout at the top of the page inviting them to populate the Follower Emotes tier.

To add emotes to the Follower tier from your Library, select Follower from the Slot Assignment drop down menu.

Managing Follower Emotes

You can rearrange, delete, reassign, and reupload Follower Emotes from the Emotes page of your Creator Dashboard or from your Library.

Follower Emotes can be unlocked for free by following a channel that has them available. Viewers will see a call out in Chat once Follower Emotes have been added.

Can Follower Emotes be used across Twitch if I subscribe to the channel where I unlocked them?: Yes! At this time, subscribers may use Follower Emotes outside the channel where they are unlocked.
Are Follower Emotes available on mobile?: Yes, Follower Emote are available on the Twitch Mobile Apps.
Who can upload Follower Emotes?: Follower Emotes can be uploaded by Partners and Affiliates.
If I subscribe to a channel but don’t follow, can I access Follower Emotes?: No, you must follow the channel in order to unlock its Follower Emotes.
